Event Details
The 7th Engineering Partnerships Convention (EPC 2026), organized by the Engineers Board of Kenya, will take place in April 2026 in Mombasa under the theme “Harnessing the Blue Economy for Sustainable Development.” The convention aims to position engineering at the center of Kenya’s Blue Economy transformation, leveraging maritime and freshwater resources to drive economic growth, sustainability, and job creation. It will bring together engineers, policymakers, academia, investors, and industry leaders to co-create a national blueprint that supports Kenya’s Vision 2030, the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda, and the African Union’s Agenda 2063.
Leading up to the main event, two preparatory sub-conferences will be held: a Technical Dialogue on Marine Infrastructure in Kisumu focusing on inland waterways and green ports, and a National Symposium on Marine Engineering Education and Innovation in Mombasa addressing curricula, research-industry linkages, and inclusion in blue innovation. EPC 2026 will feature plenary sessions, exhibitions, technical workshops, and networking opportunities, with expected outputs including a shared communiqué, strategic partnerships, policy recommendations, and exhibitions of innovative marine technologies. Ultimately, the convention seeks to strengthen engineering capacity and establish Kenya as a global leader in sustainable ocean stewardship.
