About this Training
Infrastructure development is accelerating, with donors and multilateral institutions financing a growing share of Kenya's projects. These investments demand strict adherence to environmental and social (E&S) safeguards. Failure to meet these standards can lead to project delays, suspension of funding, and lasting community harm. The Board invites you to a practical, two-day CPD training designed specifically for engineers and other professionals in the built environment managing the complexities of donor-funded projects.
This programme equips participants with the tools to identify, assess, and manage E&S risks across a project's lifecycle. You will explore Kenya's legal framework (EMCA, NEMA regulations), international safeguard standards, and practical management plans; from conducting Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs) to implementing grievance redress mechanisms and meaningful stakeholder engagement. Build the competencies to ensure compliance, protect financing, and deliver truly sustainable infrastructure.
